    New member from the colonies

    Hi all
I'm currently riding a 2007 Honda CB1300S and I'm looking to update and upgrade. The Trophy seems to tick all my boxes - decent screen, shaft drive, comfortable seating position etc. They were never sold new here but there are used imports that were sold new in Japan available. So my question is - can I trust one of these? Does anyone have experience with one? Can anyone point to any differences with the ones sold elsewhere? I have two options - make a leap of faith based on independent advice (ie the fine members here) and get one freighted from the other end of the country or bite the bullet and fly down to collect it. Any advice or comment welcome. Cheers.

Kia Ora Keng of En Zud,

Check the members map tab and you'll find a few Trophy owners in Auckland and the North Island.

As far as origins of the bikes I assumed new imports. Nevertheless, like any other bike there have been some recalls performed in the early models. Check in the maintenance section for discussion.

Regarding options I'd check history of the bike and if it adds up fly down to ride back - you have an absolute motorcycle paradise to ride in 👌👌👌. Freighting it takes all the fun out of the transaction.

    Thanks 2 Bob
The used import business reigns supreme here, including bikes from Japan. So the one I'm looking at is a 2013 with only 7000 kms, but there's no way to verify it's service history or other details, and I'll probably have to order an English owner's manual from Oz or the UK. So as i say - it'll be a bit of a punt...

My son has just emigrated to NZ and he's currently in Churchtown, South Island. I can't wait to go and see him, as I'm hoping to do a tour of the island by bike somewhere in amongst the trip. Sadly, it's going to be 2020 before I get the chance, but the Trophy is made for the roads he's sent me pictures of and given the chance, it would be my choice of rental bike if there's one available.

I honestly can't see you regretting buying one, I'm loving mine.

    Kia Ora KingofNZ,

     :401:

I have a silver 2013 TTSE. I rode one on a tour of Germany back in 2016 and when I got home immediately traded my 07 K1200GTSE on "Winston". I assure you these Trophy's are built for comfort and touring and are ideal for our fabulous roads.
To put yourself at ease give Johnny Mac or Michael Evans a call at Experience Motorcycles in Kingsland. I have dealt with them for years and not only are they extremely knowledgable but also offer 1st class backup and customer service.
