Finally Run in?
« on: July 18, 2013, 04:47:14 pm »
I have reached 3000 miles today and the Trophy performance has changed dramatically. Has anyone else seen this? The gearbox is less clunky, the mid range has improved significantly, even the rear brake works a little bit now, though not much.

I had my best ride ever on after noticing these changes. 300 miles of pure joy (albeit 33 degrees C today).

Loving it even more.

Interesting that you notice the difference at 3000.  I'm well over that but I noticed gradual improvement throughout the break in period.  I'm confident there is more in the bike but I suspect I won't see a sudden increase in performance.  I'm already quite satisfied with the performance as is.

I know bikes are supposed to improve a bit with miles on them, but I haven't really noticed much difference with mine at just under 4000.

Well I only have 2,000 miles on mine but have never considered the gearbox clunky, even from day 1!

I was a bit put out, initially, by the stiff ride even in the comfort setting ( single ), but around 3000 miles I suddenly realized that it was significantly less so and more comfortable now....springs breaking in a bit? The engine performance has always been crisp and decisive so no change there, but my new software patches have improved my MPG recently! :046:  -Dr Ron

I too, am at 3000 miles, and said to any one near me and listening, this bike just keeps getting better! Smoother, clutch action, torque, responce. I dint know if i am learning it, or its learning me. But it keeps getting better the more i ride. Best bike I ever owned. I have greater emotional attachment to other bikes, but I dont even pull them from the barn any more. So neglected they must feel,..... I feel

I think it will be a combination of all of the things mentioned....

3,000 miles of gained familiarity with the beast.... plus all those sharp edges and corners in the internals will have been worn down just enough to make the perfect fit of all the components!!
