    Thanks for the add.
I will, shortly (within the week), be the proud owner of a 2015 Trophy SE.
New to Triumphs, but not motorcycles.  I've had quite an eclectic garage across time.

:400: to the forum.  How about a rundown of what's in/been in the stable.

Hi kerryp and :400: to the Club !

I'm sure you will LOVE your new ( to you ) Trophy,
but just one thing that you MUST check before taking delivery,
is that it has had the Audio Software Update !

Earlier US & Canadian Export Models, which are fitted with XM Satellite Radio, had a "bug"
in the software that could, intermittently, prevent the Audio Unit from powering down when the
Ignition was switched OFF.  The continued Power draw can flatten the Main motorcycle Battery which
is then likely to need to be replaced, as it probably won't fully recover from a deeply discharged state !

Sadly some US Triumph Dealers are unaware of this issue, despite details having been circulated to them !

The Software update has resolved the problem.

It's easy to check the Software version and have it displayed on the Instrument Panel :

The Radio must be OFF when the Ignition is turned ON.

Turn the Ignition ON ( but don't start the engine ).
If the Radio is ON - switch it OFF.
( Press "Volume -" all the way down to Minimum, Mute and Off ),
then turn the Ignition OFF, wait for everything to shut down,
then turn it ON again - without starting the engine.

Once the Ignition has been switched ON with the Radio OFF :
Press and hold the "P" button until the "DIAGNOSTICS" menu is displayed.
Scroll to the S/W VERSION item, and press Select.

If "Version 1.04A" is displayed this is the OLD "buggy" Version - you NEED "Version 1.04E".

( Ignore the Line that says "BB SW 0.17A" or similar ).

Assuming that your Seller is a Triumph Dealer they will be able to download the software file and update it.
( see this Topic if they plead ignorance ! : Where Triumph dealers can find audio software updates (U.S.) )

    Cheers  :821:

To Coconut...  Yeah, I had read posts on hear about the audio update.  I DID specifically ask about the audio firmware update and I have been ASSURED by the dealer that ALL firmware updates have been done on the bike.

    ----------------------

To Trophied...  what has been in my stable....

    Started with a GS650L.
Then a brand new 1998 Honda 750 Shadow ACE.
    Upsized a bit... to a GL1200A
Then I went really off the path (no pun intended) to a 1000 VStrom.
Decided I needed to get some mean and nasty on with a Suzuki M90
And speed freak time with a 03 ZZR1200 (which I Givi'd out for ST).
Went and bought a couch on wheels... 06 Royal Star Midnight Venture
And because my GF thought she might want to go to Sturgis (for the 75???), I bought a 98 Fat Boy.  We didn't go... I promptly sold that antique clunker.

Oh and in between there somewhere I managed to score a 78 Honda CB750K, with only 6K original miles.  It sat in a garage for over 20 years when the original owner passed away.

I had also scored a 1984 Kawasaki GPZ 750 TURBO.  Right after getting the $4k custom painted panels back.... Hurricane Sandy decided the bike would look better under 5 feet of water.  That really hurt.

At any given time I usually had 3 bikes in the stable.  All had different purposes.
I moved to NC and the ONLY bike I kept was the CB750K.   So, now it's time for another bike and I determined it was the Trophy (altho, I ALMOST bought an 04 Ducati ST3 with only 2645 miles on it.  Yeah, they are similar bikes, right?   I mean both STs).

BTW, when I lived in NY, I taught motorcycle riding and safety.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.   :008:
