Top Box Slide Tray Electical Connector Rubber Cover

    Aloha Y'all,

I just read on one of the posts about ensuring that when the TOP BOX isn't installed on the Trophy's slide tray, ensure that the rubber electrical connector cover is installed to protect it from the weather, dirt, etc...

Supposedly this rubber cover comes with the Slide Tray...?

Does anyone know the Triumph part number, nomenclature name?

Seems my Triumph Trophy SE which I bought new from a dealer and included/a; already installed -  the Slide Tray/Matching Blue color Top Box which didn't come with one of these protective covers, and probably should have.

Thus, I'd like to get a cover and prevent issues problems due to exposure - before they can occur.  So, I'd like to specifically tell the dealer what they forgot to give me with the motorcycle sale.

    Mahalo!

Triumph Part Number is T2350533 ( "Rubber Cover, Sliding Carriage" ).

The cost from World of Triumph would be £36.00 + Postage !  :005:

If you can't persuade your Dealer to provide one,
drop me a PM with your name and address -
I think I've got a spare one kicking around somewhere !

Never got one either, at that price I think the top box will be staying on the Triumph :087: permanently

You might look in your glove box or in the storage box under the seat, they may have put it there for safekeeping.  I would insist that they furnish it at no charge if it is nowhere to be found.  If it comes in place on the rack from the factory there would be no reason for them to remove it.  If it comes in a bag of bolts, well, may have been put aside and forgotten.  In either case it is definitely the dealer's problem.

Yeah, definitely not in the glove box, I looked in the TOP BOX and the TB liner bag for it, I'll check under the seat next...

I think I found one for $44.95 plus shipping...definitely going to ask the dealer nicely for one that should have come with the bike...maybe they have it in the shop and just forgot to give it to me since when they first showed the bike to me it was with the top box mounted.  I'm glad it wasn't raining on my 860-mile 2-day trip back home from Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Syracuse, NY (pulled it on a trailer behind my truck, top box removed), without the cover on!

I've had a 2016 for three years from new. Got the Triumph top box but never got the rubber cover. About to go on a three week trip to Tasmania. Just checked whether the socket in the top box has power and it works fine. Not sure if it makes a difference but when not being used the bike is always  under a bike cover. I'm wondering if the rubber bit is really needed ??? Has anyone else had issues as a result of not having the rubber bit ??

I also bought my bike new with the top box. Was supposed to be fitted but the dealer hadn't got around to it, so I fitted it myself on the spot using the dealers tools. Hence I have my rubber plug and all the other bits and pieces that had to be removed. Pretty much always ride with to top box on so no need for the plug - or so I thought. Went for a ride one day in questionable weather. Very wet but not raining. Very twisty where I live so decided to do away with the top box. Did not even consider the plug. Great ride, great time (never any different on this bike) until I hit serious roadwork.  Slippery and big muddy puddles. Idiot coming the other way in a 4X4 hit one of the puddles and covered me and half the bike with a layer of crap.
When I got home washed / scraped the mud off and noticed that there was mud and sand in the receiver where the plug should have been. It was stuck to  the grease that covered the electrical connectors.  Big job to clean it off and re grease.
I know my situation was  bit extreme, but if sand, dust or anything else attaches itself to the lubricating grease, I think it could cause long term connection problems.
The rubber plug is very necessary.

Here's my progress with www.teamwinnebegoland.com (the dealer I bought the bike from October 8th, 2018) on his subject so far

"Part missing from my 2017 Triumph Trophy SE

    Hi again Tim,

I have figured out that there is a part missing from the 2017 Triumph Trophy SE I bought from Team Winnebago on October 8th, 2018, which I feel should have been supplied by Team Winnebago as part of the sale.

Specifically, the  "Triumph RUBBER COVER, SLIDING CARRIAGE Part # T2350533" (see attached picture) which installs to protect the electrical connection for the TOP BOX from moisture and dirt when the top box is not installed,  is not with the motorcycle.

I looked in the TOP BOX, and in the Top Box liner bag, in the little side glove compartment, and under the seat for it - not there.

Thus, I'm assuming it was an oversight to not give it to me before I departed with the motorcycle, and hopefully it is somewhere still at the Team Winnebago dealership from when the Slide-Tray to hold the TOP BOX was installed on this motorcycle by your employees.

Thus, I'm asking that you please look around for it, and if you find it, then send it to me.  if you can't find it, then send another to me - (at no cost to me since as I understand it, this cover is part of the SLIDE-TRAY assembly).

    Regards,"

    Response:

    "David,

I had someone look into this for you.  We ordered what you need this morning and we will have it shipped directly to you.  You should see this early next week hopefully.

    Thank you,"

So, I give them a BIG THUMBS up for customer care!!!  I would definitely recommend them to anyone else looking to buy their last Black 2017 Trophy.  Can find it on www.cycletrader.com
