How do you remove the auxiliary socket from stowage box?
« on: December 03, 2018, 07:22:51 PM »
Need some insight.  When I received my 2015 Trophy it appears the shipper screwed up my stowage box lid. Broke one of the hinge pieces and a little plastic piece for the push button.
Anyway, I ordered a new box an trying to switch in the new box.
I got EVERYTHING off the old box... EXCEPT.... the aux socket.
I looked thru the manual and they don't even discuss how to remove this socket.
I've looked it over for about an hour and cannot seem to figure out how the plastic ring un/locks onto the metal socket.

Anyone have any experience/advice with getting this piece off?

TIA

If you look carefully inside the socket there are two small rectangular holes
about 3 or 4 mm wide - they look black - the black colour is from “tabs”
on the black plastic body, and these latch into the holes to retain the socket.

It’s quite fiddly but if you depress these while pushing the metal part
from the other side, the tabs will disengage and the socket can be
extracted from the body, then the body can be removed.

Hi Coconut.
Thanks for the fast reply.
Not quite... fast enough tho. :008:
I got so frustrated with it... I cut part of the lip, surrounding the plug, off so I could get a better look at this thing and...

Sure enough, I found the two little square tabs you mention.
Pressed one down and pushed on the socket... VIOLA... it stated coming out.
I turned the piece a little and pushed the other tab and it all came out.

Didn't read the link you gave me, but I found that you need to put the black plastic piece back in first, THEN push the socket thru until you hear the CLICK.

All is right with the world now.
I now have a functioning cockpit storage.
I have an extra solenoid (because I didn't know WHAT kind of damage was done)... for the future.   :001:

As always, Coconut, you are the man.

Actually, I think we BOTH missed the humor.
I always say... VIOLA... as a joke.
I did not INTENTIONALLY play a pun on the fiddling part...
And I didn't catch YOUR joke.
So... good one on your part.   :745:

Have a cheery oh day mate.   :821:
