Having trouble wiring Hyper-lite Brake Lights
    on: Dec 16, 2018, 12.48 pm

    Good morning folks.

I need help wiring a pair of Hyper-lite Dual Function Universal LED Running Lights and Flashing Brake Lights to my '15 Trophy.

Specifically, the instructions call for me to:

1.tap into the wiring on the bike for the brake light using the RED wire on the Hyper-lite
2.tap into an ignition switched wire using the GRAY wire on the Hyper-lite
3.tap into a ground wire using the BLACK wire on the Hyper-lite

It would be greatly appreciated if someone would direct me to the best location under the luggage rack (I have removed it) to tap into the three wires asked for on the bike and a photograph indicating which wires are the correct ones

Since I am colorblind AND baffled by things electric, if you name the wiring colors on the bike, my wife will help me connect to the correct ones (this is embarrassing).

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Dr. Steve,

Have a look at this Topic where I installed some additional rear Stalk Lights :

HOW TO : Add rear LED Stalk Lights

There are some Photo's and details of the wiring colours.

If you remove your Trophy Rear Light Unit ( see instructions in the above Topic )
you will find a Multi-Plug connector, which will give you the best idea of where to tap into the wires.

The wires at the rear Light Multi Plug Connnector are :

    Main Harness Side
Tail Light & License Plate +veYellow
    Stop Light +veGreen / Purple
    Ground -veBlack
    Offside / Right Indicator +veGreen /White
    Nearside / Left Indicator +veGreen / Red

Sub Harness to Light Unit Side
Tail Light & License Plate +veRed
    Stop Light +veBlue
    Ground -veBlack
    Offside / Right Indicator +veYellow
    Nearside / Left Indicator +veYellow / Green

( Where two colours are listed the first is the main colour, and the second is the colour of its stripe ).

On my latest Trophy I modified it slightly differently,
having sourced the identical connectors for that Multi-Plug,
and instead of splicing into the wires, I made up a new Sub Harness
where one end plugs into the Trophy Harness and then divides off with a connector
to feed the Trophy rear Light Unit, and another for the additional Stalk Lights,
so at any time I can unplug my Sub Harness and the Stalk Lights,
and reconnect things back to original.

    Cheers  :821:

Thanks so much Coconut - worked like a charm.  Could have kicked myself when I saw how easy it was to remove the tail light!

Great forum.  Talented and generous folks.

    Have a great holiday.

Hi (again) Coconut - sorry to revive an older thread but this seems maybe the right place...

I've been browsing through a bunch of the various modification sections of the forum, but haven't been able to locate any specifics for the plugs that match the taillight assembly harness that you mention above.  I'm looking to install a Backoff XP brakelight strobe ( that I happened to have lying around from a previous project that never happened) and I really like your idea of doing this via a plug and play sub harness, rather than cutting into the wiring on my brand new Trophy.  Any chance you happen to have a link, or a specific type/model number info for those plugs?

    Thanks!
