    Garmin 595LM

    Hi guys,
I have just had a Garmin 595LM wired into the bike by my local Triumph dealer. Currently I have it coming through the headset channel - perfect ... but I don't know how to turn the bike's radio off so I all I hear is the GPS instructions.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Using the handlebar Select button,
the one with an ”i” on it,
press it repeatedly to scroll through
the various Audio sources ( LW / MW / FM /
USB etc, ) until you get to “NAV” -

You will then only hear the audio from your Garmin  :028:

    Cheers  :821:

If you have Microsoft PowerPoint, then this might also be useful -
it's a set of animated Slides I put together, to demonstrate
how to Navigate your way through the various Menus on the Trophy,
without sitting in the garage flattening the Battery !

Link : HOW TO: Navigate the Trophy Menu

The PowerPoint file can be downloaded from a Link at the foot of the First Post in that Topic  :028:

    Many thanks Coconut,

I'm sorry that I haven't thanked you earlier. Just returned from a Xmas/New Year break in our sunny Waikato region.

I think the GPS may have been wired incorrectly as I do not see "NAV" as I scroll through the "i" button. As an instruction is advised by the GPS I see "NAV" is briefly displayed on the instrument panel then it returns to (LW/MW/FM/USB etc.).
Not a major problem and at my next service will ask the dealer to take a look.

    Have a great 2019

    Regards
    Alex

    No problem Alex (NZ),

It seems that the Audio Output cable of your Garmin 595 is correctly connected
to the Trophy NAV Input, which is why "NAV" appears briefly in the Display
when a voice announcement is made, but "NAV AUDIO" also needs to be enabled in the Menu,
and it will then show up as an Item  in the List of Sources that can be scrolled through :
    ( Owners Audio Handbook Page 40 )

    • Press and Hold the MODE / MENU Button "M" until the RADIO SETTINGS Screen is displayed,
      then release it.
    • Use the SCROLL Buttons to Scroll to ALT SOURCE.
    • Press the SELECT Button "i"

Now you can turn the NAV AUDIO On or Off,
or turn the BLUETOOTH AUDIO On or Off.
( if a compatible Bluetooth Audio device is Paired),

    • Press the "i" Button to switch between BLUETOOTH AUDIO or NAV AUDIO
    • Use the SCROLL Buttons to switch between ON or OFF as necessary.
    • Press "i" again to set that condition,
and the Menu will move to to the next Item, e.g. Bluetooth Audio.
    • After setting both Items, the next press of the "i" Button will revert to the ALT SOURCE Menu.
    • Scroll to EXIT and Press "i" to return the RADIO SETTINGS MENU.
    • Scroll to EXIT and Press "i" again to Exit the Menu.

If you have Microsoft PowerPoint, you might find this useful to help find your way around,
and become more familiar with what can be achieved in the Trophy Menus,
especially in a bad weather / non riding day - it will avoid the risk of a flat battery too ! :

    Cheers  :821:

    Hi Coconut,

I owe you a beer. Following your latest instruction (GPS for dummies) found eveything now works as it should.
    Many thanks ... again
