    Retuned Radio

    Hi All,

I was bored today, boxing day, can't wait to get back to work tomorrow.

Seeing as the weather was a bit damp, overcast and generally rubbish, I decided to try and find my preferred radio station here in the good old UK, then realised the frequency was only available on DAB, no longer on FM  :161:..So I deleted everything and started again, It's not very often I use the radio while riding, rather listen to the engine  :169:, the last time I had the radio on was the other week on a toy run to Birmingham Children's hospital with around 200 other bikers, we had to wait in Birmingham for others to catch up, so we could all arrive at the hospital together, some of the bikes had radios' Harley's and two other TTSE's, someone had even wired a car radio to his battery  :187: :187: mine was a poor reception so I turned it off, anyway, having retuned the radio, everything seems a lot better  :027:...I also synced my phone to the Bluetooth, and was playing Bulgarian pop music  :008: through the bikes sound system, Bulgaria will be my new home in a couple of years time, once the house is finished out there. Well I will shut up now, told you I was bored lol.....and are / is there any members / member in Bulgaria, or indeed the Baltics here.

I fitted a car stereo to a Deauville some years ago so it's certainly doable. :002:

Earthman, the chap who fitted a radio to his bike had it placed in a plastic container, fitted two speakers to said box, sealed it with a clip on water tight lid and secured it to his rear seat with a bungee strap, he also run his phone to it to play Christmas songs, plus, also wired Christmas lights to the battery, he later said it was killing his battery  :112:....it worked well for awhile.  :008:

I wonder if a small DAB radio tuner unit, that enables a car radio system to play a DAB station would work on the bike, might be worth looking at.  :084:

Interesting observation of what one gets up to when one is bored. Personally I never have my radio on, in fact, I've never had it on. I just enjoy the sounds of silence, the engine, nature and whatever surrounds me. I've been called different, guess I am.  :821: :158:
