Evening all, I have gone through the search option for the answer, am I correct in saying the "cannister" fuel filter is inside the tank, or is it outside, underneath the tank.
When the weather picks up, I am going to carry out the 20k service, although my bike is now at 22500  :164:.. well it was summer, and I had to squeeze in an European trip  :007:

It's in the tank.  You have to remove the fairing and fuel tank to access the fuel pump/filter unit.  It's time consuming, but not especially hard.

Cheers Ernest T, I thought as much, like I say, I will be stripping the bike anyway, air filter, plugs etc, It seems stupid not to do it as I have got that far, not cost effective.

Yes it's inside the tank, the workshop manual says that you should replace the seal (no.20) too, maybe you will want to order that with the filter? https://www.worldoftriumph.com/partscatalog/catalog/listing/catalog/triumphmc/modelid/621910/block/100061569-0-2/

Are you also going to check the valves and cam timing? If you haven't bought that expensive 0.6Nm torque limiter from triumph, what other alternative tool will you use?

I did say a little while ago on here that I have found a ex Triumph mechanic who works from home, he lives near my mum's, so I can kill two birds and all that, I am toying with getting him to check the valves, as he has the equipment / knowledge / parts, and I will do the rest, or just give him the bits I have bought and let him do it, although, it just saves ripping the bike apart twice.

Can you ask him what he is using in place of that Triumph tool please?
Or maybe he did spend nigh on 200 just for that one tool before he left them??
