Model Year 18 Triumph Trophy???? Did it happen?

I ran across this the other day and was wondering if the MY 18 was ever sold.

I suspect not.  I have a 2017 and was under the impression that it was the last year.

It does seem a bit strange, when the Trophy is no longer listed
on the UK Triumph web site, and as far as I'm aware no NEW Trophy
has been made since at least 2016 !

I wonder if there are still one or two kicking round in a US Dealership
that they are still trying to sell ?

I recently saw one at a dealership out in the plains states, somewhere with "1" mile on the odometer. It was still listed for like $16k though...

Having watched Henry Cole doing a documentary on the Triumph factory the other month, and learning that they are unique in the aspect of having an assembly line that can have many different models of Triumph on it at any one time, I did wonder why on earth they decided to totally pull the Trophy from their line up.

They still have to make all the parts for us current Trophy owners for X amount of years so why not make the whole bike available especially considering that it never had it's very own production line in the first place. Even if they had sold them on a 'special order/wait months' basis, surely that would have made a bit more sense??

I don't think it was fake news.  It is on the Triumph official site.  I think it may have been a last minute notification to marketing that there would be no more Trophies.  Marketing never bothered to pull it down.

I was told the reason for the Trophy being dropped was that the engine could not be made Euro 4/5 compliant, due to the weight of the bike, and giving the bike the same performance as the old bike was not possible, so they just concentrated on the Tiger 1200, as it was lighter.

To my mind they could have made the bike compliant, by losing weight from the bike, as they managed to lose weight from the Tiger.
