    Loud exhaust

    Hi all
I rode my Triumph for the first time in probably 6 mths Friday last.
It was noisier that I remember it, but not too bad.  Took a few days for the aches and pains to go away and today I decided to wash it.  Visually examining it I spotted the reason (probably) it was nosier than usual.

I will phone Triumph Dublin for the part, but I would sound more convincing if I knew the part name.

    Anybody???
    Regards
    Gary
p.s.  Hopefully there is a picture in this post or I have made a bags of it

    Greetings redcap 0006,
You failed to mention the model year of your Trophy, and I don’t know if it matters in regards to exhaust components, but here is a parts blow-up for the 2014 exhaust.

I hate to be the prophet of doom, but this might not be as simple as you hope. It looks like the end of the exhaust pipe (with the 4 or 5 slits in) which the broken clamp pulls around onto the silencer, might be broken off and missing. Difficult to see without my readers (glasses), but I do hope I am wrong as it is listed as a whopping £673 from World of Triumph. Another user had the same problem and was going to weld a home made sleeve on, but when I enquired with Triumph about welding anything (in case I ever need to) they don't recommend it, but if you do, disconnect the battery and Ecu to prevent damage. Sorry.....

    ouch 1675
ok, maybe swing by Triumph and get them to look.  All I need, heading Europe but not soon so time to get it sorted.  Will it survive a 100km ride to dealer without causing more harm?

If you are concerned about the ride, you can always do what I did as a broke college student, cut a soup can in half lengthwise, and clamp it around the split exhaust with hose clamps or heat resistant tape. My makeshift repair lasted months while I scraped up the $$ to do a proper repair...  :034:

Or was it a coffee can?
The old memory ain’t what it used to be!  :087:
