    Moving On

Well everyone, it's time to say goodbye and move on. My Trophy is going into week #7 in the shop and I'm still waiting for parts to arrive :233: so I gave up on her and am going to the Tiger as of tomorrow :152:

Some may question why I am buying Triumph again? Because I love the bikes, just hate the problems! I am betting against the odds in that a person can't get 2 lemons back-to-back. I was planning on buying an ADV bike, just not this soon, and I can't buy BMW for it does nothing for me. I loved the Tiger when I rode it so that is where my heart is :166:

I didn't spend a lot of time here because I was pretty frustrated with the "Trophy bomb" I purchased and it kind of killed the joy for me. I am hoping the Tiger renews that joy and I can get back to loving the ride, like I used to!

Take care everyone and enjoy your rides and I wish you all well!  :159:

You don't have to consider yourself exiled, Mike.  Come back around occasionally and let us know how your're doing on the Tiger.  I wish you the best with the new one and hope you have tons of trouble free miles.

Thanks Glen and I will do my best to hop in and say "hi". Curious, how many miles do you have on your Trophy now?

My 2013 is at a little over 23,000 right now, but I get to ride it more now than I did the first few  years, and I'm doing some trips on it now that account for a couple of thousand miles at a time.  Mine is a 2013 and has never  had any issues other than fork seals when it was new, and audio software update that cost me a battery, and tire pressure monitors under warranty due to the low battery warning.  Other than that, maintenance only, fuel, and all the silly stuff I've added to it.  Sorry yours worked out the way it did after I gave you so much encouragement to buy the Trophy.  I really thought all the problems had been worked out.  Obviously I was wrong, but there aren't nearly as many issues now as there were the first year based on the posts on the forum.  I look at other forums from time to time as well, and there are comments on those about problems too.  Triumph isn't the only one, other brands have some issues as well, they're just not as well known.  Why????  Who knows.
    Best to you,

Oh, don't feel bad. I loved the bike but the issues stole away the joy. I had gears go bad, alternator replaced, and now they are going to replace a head because it sucked a valve! My bike was a 2016 and I had 36.2k miles on it so I did ride it, just not as much as I was hoping to.

You're correct though in that the other bikes all have their fare-share of issues so I am staying with Triumph and hoping to get a solid Tiger!

I loved my 17 Tiger Explorer XRX. A bit lower geared and a bit less protection. Way less fuel range. Lots and lots of fun to ride. That triple sound is great!!!
I hope that you roll many miles on that new Tiger.

    Thanks, Traxx!

I know I am giving up weather protection but the 2018 XCA I rode did a great job with the wind, so much better than the GSA did, and even though the range is more limited it won't be any different than my Concours days. That's what the additional fuel cans are for! I am looking forward to the additional leg room I will get on the Tiger and the opportunities it will open up!
