    Interruption during acceleration
    on: Mar 22, 2019, 03.40 pm

Question. I bought my second hand 2013 TTSE this past December with 50K km. Very happy about the bike so far. With the weather, as well as my confidence on the bike improving, Iím starting to open the throttle all the way and Iím noticing ďan interruptionĒ around 6000/7000 rpm. Hard to describe but it feels as if a cogwheel skips a tooth. It doesnít do it whenever I drive modestly or shift below 6000-ish. I called the dealer and he says it might be a safety spring to avoid overtorque. Any ideas?

    Hi Deauville72,

Sorry to hear you are having this isse.

Is the Dealer you mention an official Triumph Dealer ?

( I ask because I can't find an "Over Torque safety spring" in any of the Parts lists  !  :017:   :164: )

I think it's more likely that there is either an air leak at the Throttle bodies,
which has been reported by other Members - especially after Servicing,
when they may not have been re-seated correctly, or there is a problem with the
Throttle Bodies sticking when they should be opening.

An Official Dealer can connect their Diagnostic equipment and check the Throttle operation.

    Cheers  :821:

    Engine cutout on acceleration.

Going to call the dealer tomorrow to check what Triumphís position is with regard to my 2013 TTSE

My bike did this when the air box wasn't properly seated. You can also have engine stumbling if the battery is on its last legs, but that you'd notice from idle.

So here's a little update. I brought the bike to the dealer I bought it from. Not the official Triumph dealer I mentioned before, but Triumph advised to check with the vendor first, since it's still covered by a 1-year warranty on 2nd hand vehicles. The dealer had the bike checked with another Triumph specialist and it turns out that the shift forks are bent, causing some damage to the second gear. It only happens in second gear between 6000-7000 rpm but it's obviously not getting better. Now waiting for parts and repair.

Thanks for the update, and ..... Aah - Yes !

If you'd have mentioned it only happened in 2nd Gear I would have pointed you here :

    Slipping out of 2nd gear?

    Cheers  :821:
