Being that it is considered 'customary' I thought I'd better say hello. My 2000 Tiger just went bye-bye, something in the motor is coming apart. Bought it new, loved the bike but it's just no longer worth fixing given I was looking at possibly a complete engine tear-down/rebuild. While getting the bad news from the dealer (Donelson Cycles / St. Louis MO) last Saturday, I found a brand new 2015 Trophy SE in the showroom for $10,999. So, here I am. Thank you to all who have contributed to this forum.  :152:

:400: to the forum.  Not the most pleasant way to end up on a Trophy, but a big step up!

Thank you Founding Member trophied. No worries, it was pleasant enough. Though I felt like my dog had died when walking away from my magnificent Tiger so suddenly and unexpectedly. Lots of good rides and beautiful days spent on that bike. Other than a flat tire or two, never let me down. I left it with the dealer. :-( Should be aboard the USS Trophy SE in two-three weeks. Some cross country time is on my Bucket List at this point. If the Trophy proves as dependable at the 00' Tiger I hope to make a few more wonderful memories and perhaps start meeting other riders, for a change. :-)

Hey Mino,  :400: along. Sad news about the Tiger, I still have a 1050 as well and love the beast. Hope you enjoy the new ride!

Welcome Mino!  Too bad about the Tiger, but I'm pretty sure you'll feel better after a long day's ride on your new Trophy.  Please report back with your first real ride report!

Thank you teef.au and Stoney. The Trophy will be a real change of pace. I won't be riding as many back roads, not at the Tiger's pace anyway. Gravel is also going to be nearly off limits. But I feel this move has been in the making for some time as I don't find myself wandering down gravel roads nearly as much these days, but I will miss the back road (chip/tar) capabilities. While I was at the dealership I noticed for the first time the new 1200 Scrambler XE and am having 'thoughts'. Maybe I'm in the process of 'splitting the Tiger in half' into two bikes. A better road road bike (Trophy), and a better gravel and WAY back road bike (Scrambler). I can tell you this, if one day I find the dealer dropped the new Scrambler's price by nearly half as they did the Trophy, Triumph will take the lead in my little stable. :-) Thanks again for the welcome gentlemen, very good of you to make the effort. Given my little Trophy test ride I'm confident I'm going to very much enjoy the new ride.  I REALLY liked the strong, smooth, low-R torque pull and the overall luxo-sport feel/handling. I'll be sure to return and share my post orgasmic bliss after I've logged a few miles. Don't worry, I'll be sure to put my pants back on before I do. ;-)
