I'm not a fan of the erm, fan.......

    Hey all..........

Following a recent service, I've noticed that my fan seems to be particularly 'active' and the temperature when stationary is up at 5/6 bars almost always.

I'm sensing there's nothing dramatic to worry about, but wondered if anyone else has a similar experience?

    Thanks in advance all!  :002:

How long are you stationary for until the fan comes on?

I hardly ever hear mine kick in unless it's a really hot day and I'm stuck in non moving traffic for example.

Hmmm.. My '13 stays at 4 bars normally, even when we ran through Death Valley at 120 degrees ( seriously!! ).
Fan comes on when it hits 5 bars, only takes a short time to cool back to 4 bars and turn off.
Might check the REAL coolant level, the tank may have a 'ring around it' and you have less coolant than you think.
also, if you've changed the coolant there may be air in the system.
But, that said, as long as it's not entering the red, you are ok.

Mmm...........I'm not stationary for long at all, that's my slight concern. I'd estimate around 40 - 60 seconds, sometimes longer..... :187:

Well, we certainly don't get to those sorts of temperatures in Old Blighty! The fan comes on (a bit quickly in my opinion) and when I check the bars it always seems to be around 5 until I pull away and it drops straight away.
That's a good shout about the possibility of air being in the system......didn't consider that  :003:

It's never gone into the red though. Got a tour coming up so probably being a bit over sensitive!

    I'll check the coolant level.

    Gents, good day.
    Please help me out.
You speak about bars. Where do you measure the pressure?

Lost in translation there - Not Measurement of Pressure Bars,
but Graphical indiciation of temperature level bars ! - See below Image  :028:

    Cheers  :821:

    Hallo Coconut. :140:
    Ha you are right!
As a mechanical engineer a bar has do do something with pressure. Thanks to Vilhelm Bjerknes....
But a bar is also a chocolate-bar, a candy-bar. But you know, I am on diet. Bars are not in my system.
    Thanks again.
