Neutral light/engine dies

Just had the neutral light stay on irrespective of gear selected and an odd engine cut out at several decelerations.
Corrected itself by itself and then it happened again. Was fine this morning, no other symptoms except the LCD screen froze briefly (digital speedo etc) tonight, cruise OK, clutch switch seems OK.
Starts fine, runs OK though feels slightly underpowered when the neutral light is on. The weird thing is the cutting out or I’d suspect a cable stretch/short.
2017 SE 30k miles, all year use good condition fsh by Triumph dealer.
Any ideas?

Have you checked for any DTC's ( Diagnostic Trouble Codes ) ?

The most likely reason for the Neutral light staying ON when a gear is engaged,
would be a faulty Gear Position sensor.

This sensor is also part of the Safety Interlocks that prevents the engine from being started
if a gear is engaged and the clutch is not pulled in, or will cut the engine off if a gear is engaged
when the side stand is still down, so it is possible that a faulty Gear Position Sensor
is also causing the occasional engine cut outs at deceleration that you describe.

To access it you will need to remove the Left Control Plate ( Footrest hanger ).

P0000 meams there are no DTC's stored 

If you do have to replace the Gear Position Sensor,
it is part number T1290660 and costs around £65.00 from your Triumph Dealer.

Yes, thanks - I'd been through the (very helpful) list you compiled.
Hadn't known about the DTC thing before. Handy.

I had maybe a similiar problem:
My engine died sometimes when I closed the throttle and used the motorbrake to decelerate. E.g. when I saw a red trafficlight. Or when I drove into a roundabout.
That happened often but not every time.
No problem to start the engine thereafter. I had just to pull the clutch and start again.
And the solution was the change of the crank shaft sensor.

Triumph tech thinks it was the ingress of water.
No repeat since Friday - used bike every day.
Cruise control not working because the bike thinks it’s in neutral, likewise TC and ABS
Not an unknown problem apparently. So if you get a big green N - dry under your footpeg hanger before resorting to anything more costly!
