Howdy, y'all.
« on: August 01, 2013, 10:52:34 PM »
Hi everyone.  I'm very seriously looking at buying a 2014 Trophy SE and thought I'd join this site to learn all I could about the bike and meet some current owners.  I currently ride a 2005 R12GS, which has been a wonderful solid machine for me and has taken me to most of the continental U.S.  I've owned many different brands of bikes, but never a Triumph, so this will be my first!  I thought I was going to buy the K1600GT, as my last two bikes have been BMW, but the Trophy just makes more sense to me and as a bonus, it is less expensive.  Also, I was introduced to the Trophy when I first saw one on a club (Two Wheeled Texans) ride and thought it was simply an impressive machine.  There are two reasons why I'm waiting for the 2014 models.  One is so that the factory can get through all and any teething problems that typically occur with new models.  The second reason is to have my Pass Labs gear (I'm one of those audiophiles/audiophools :002:) paid off before I pull the trigger on the Triumph.  Looking forward to chatting with you.

PS.  I'm a single malt guy, so here's wishing you a nice Dalwhinnie Highland!

Hi there and welcome.

You will find lots of info on here. As with all forums most of the posts regarding mechanical issues are snags but who posts the good things.

Hi Slowgeezer, welcome to the forum

I bought a Trophy after having an RT 1150 for eight years which was a good bike ( apart from ABS ) and the TT is sooooo much better to ride ( as you would expect ) its an easy bike to ride, I was worried about the extra weight shunting it around but it is no more difficult the the RT its fricken great. Ive had the bike for 7 days now covered well over 200 miles and not one problem yet !!!

You need to test ride one for a few hours, good luck

Roger

Hi, Slowgeezer. With a name like that you better buy the blue Trophy, it's well known to be slower than the silver.

And now it's my shout - a Glenmorangie for you. :821:

Dude...pick up a demo 2013: 1) They all go on sale in September, 2) All the "glitches" have been found and fixed thanks to the 2000 or so miles of saddle time that they all will have accumulated by the opening day to sell them. 3) Exceptional $ savings and an excellent factory warrantee will be serious incentives to PULL THE TRIGGER my moto-brother!   :038:  -Dr Ron
