    Super Oil bargain in US

Hi all. I just came across this recently and thought I'd pass it on. You can get Castrol Actevo semi-synth motorcycle oil for under $20/gal at Wal Mart. You'll have to order it for store pickup in most places to get that price, but it's worth it; nothing else is remotely close IMO re: price/performance. This is cheaper than plenty of random conventional car oils are these days.

    Castrol Actevo at Wally World

Speaking of oil, will be getting my bike this Thursday and one of the first things I will do is an oil change. 7500 miles on it and sure its had an oil change but, to be on the safe side will do 1 more until 10,000 mile service.
Anyways, looking at the oil in the link below, Castrol Power 1 10w40 full synthetic,  saw where someone was using  Castrol 10w50 4t syntheticnd and supposedly quieted engine noise somewhat. Opinions?
And an OEM filter or are there aftermarket brands someone could reccomend ?

    Thanks! :028:

There are as many opinions about oil as there are stars in the sky. Use any oil that is JASO spec, or at least any that doesn't say 'resource conserving' on the badge on the back and you'll be completely fine. Note that the Castrol I linked above is now even less $$ than when I originally posted. Easily the best deal on the planet for excellent oil.

For a filter, there are fewer choices now that so many otherwise good filters now have the convex base plate, there are fewer choices. The Mahle 575 and the Mobil 1 108 model are excellent filters.

It's listed in the Forum Triumph Trophy Specs Page

    4 Litres / 1.1 US Gallons ( Just over 4 Quarts ).

    Cheers  :821:

While I am sure the oi will work perfectly, if one is still under warranty the factory book does specify synthetic, not synthetic blend so that might be a consideration.  If that's not an issue, and/or you're like me and change it every 5k anyway, this is an awesome deal.

And the 10/50 is the other specified weight so either works fine.

My owners manual specifies semi-  or fully synthetic.
