For my money, the best riding is in the Eastern third of the State, and especially the SE corner. Plenty of State Parks and curvy roads to choose from.

So I've heard.  The best part is we can get there without using I-40!!!

I just returned from the East TN area.  Let me tell you, there are some SPECTACULAR roads in the area.  Either Chattanooga or Knoxville would make a great base.

I am more familiar with Chattanooga.  There is a great hostel in Chatty called The Crash Pad.  As a group we could take the entire place over at a price way better than a hotel.  From Chattanooga you are close to US 74 and Oconee.  Riding along that lake is spectacular.  From there you can head on down to Suchess GA and visit Two Wheels.  A lot of scenic routes and a few interesting places to see are all around there.  Great BBQ stands dot the area also.

I have never stayed in Knoxville.  But, from Knoxville you are probably less than an hour away from Tail of the Dragon.  Also nearby is Oak Ridge TN and Big Ed's pizza.  Or, going east you have Pigeon Forge (Dollywood) and Gatlinburg if you're into the more touristy things.

This meet up sounds interesting and September is a doable month for me.

TomAdis the info is much appreciated.
Everyone that wants to ride is welcome.

What we have found in the past is that we meet up for maybe for a few days due to travel time.
We find a place to call base some people may get there a day before and leave before others and others get there a day later or so
The idea is to have the group all together for at least one day, we have to get a group picture!!
