Skene decelerometer placement.

I purchased a skene decelerometer but it fails when I field test it. Any recommendations on a placement that worked? If yours works can you take a photo of it’s placement? Thanks.

First time I've heard of these but, definitely interested in them! Why would placement affect them not working properly and not the connection type?

Can you be more specific with your description of the failure? How are you testing it?
Also, have you adjusted the settings? There are 5 different levels of sensitivity.

Hey tdragger, sounds like your familiar with these. Was looking at another brand brake light modulator, of course wasn't compatible with Triumph, catered mostly to HD.
Can you confirm these work on a Trophy?
Thanks!

I have just the regular P3 controller. It doesn’t have the decelerometer option. Mine works just fine. The skenedesign.com website has instructions regarding the setting changes.

I know next to nothing about these, but if it is a separate "box",
in addition to the different levels of sensitivity already mentiioned,
do the instructions say anything about the mounting orientation ?
I'm thinking that there may be a different effect if mounted, for example
horizontally as opposed to vertically, and sideways to the bike, or in line with it ?
HAVE YOU HAD YOUR IGNITION WIRING SAFETY RECALL INSPECTION DONE YET ?

Could see that, if there were some type of forward/backward gyro type mechanism, which apparently there is.
From the Skene site:
"The arrow on the controller label should point to the front of your bike
The controller should be placed horizontally, parallel to the ground
To minimize conducting engine vibration directly to the controller, the controller should NOT be secured directly to the chassis or frame".
And 5 settings as tdragger stated. Might look into one of these.

I have followed all the recommendations on the Skene site. The unit passes the tip over test and if I tip it down the decel test. However when riding the bike it fails the decel tests. It almost never lights up. I also have it on the most sensitivity.. so my question was for someone that has one that seems to work where have you mounted it. A pic would be most helpful. Bill from skene has sent me this replacement one but does the same as the first.
