recommendations for headset for pairing with TTSE

Hi,
I now have a nice shiny 2017 TTSE and am now looking for a headset to pair to it. The information in this forum seems mainly to talk about problems connecting, and I have not found many mention successes. Did see mention that the Sena 20C worked, but that has now been replaced by the 20C EVO.  I would love to hear which headsets work flawlessly - ideally up to the cost of the 20C EVO. I do not need to talk to a pack of other bikers (finger gestures are good enough for me  ), just to use the features offered by the TTSE.

 I use a Scala Rider Q-solo to listen to music, GPS directions and phone calls. I have had no issues pairing it up with my TTSE.

I pair my Sena 20S EVO to the Trophy as the "mobile phone" and then pair the phone to the Sena as "second mobile phone" and it works well, as does my old SMH10.  Pairing the Trophy as the second phone just does not seem to translate with these two systems.  When the bike has sat for a while and I turn on the Sena and it pairs with my phone before I start the bike I have to press the jog dial for 2 seconds or for the second beep after the intercom signal and the audio from the bike come right up.  Only happens that way if I start the bike last in the sequence.  At startup of the Sena with the bike already running, I get "phone connected", then either "media connected" or 2 quick beeps and it's all up and running.If you want instructions from a dedicated GPS you will need it hard wired in with the Trophy OEM gps mount with my method because both bluetooth channels on the Sena are already in use.  I did a test once and mounted my SMH10 on the opposite side and paired it to the Trophy and streamed the audio to the 20S through the intercom connection, and paired the 20S to my phone AND my TomTom Rider 550 by bluetooth and could get gps directions,Trophy audio, and phone use,  prioritized by the 20S.  Believe it or not the audio sounded better than paired straight to the Trophy, but it was my strange brain at work to come up with that.  Only problem was no intercom because the SMH10 was using it.  Kinda whacky huh?  No, I wouldn't try that at home, and don't use it that way any longer.  Sorry for the ramble, hope the first couple of sentences help.

I use the Sena 10u In a arai helmet , works fine for me.

I use a Sena 10S.  It works well.  The handlebar volume control did not work with my Sena 10S, however after a recent firmware upgrade it now works as it should and I can control volume from either the 10S or the Trophy handlebar control.

I've _finally_ got all this stuff working after discovering that The Problem was that the bike doesn't have a strong enough BT signal to make it through my fatbody to my head. (see other BT thread I posted in). The short story is that I had to add in a secondary BT link between the bike and my helmet in order to boost the signal.

I've got the bike,  GPS and phone all working with my PackTalk Bold. I have the phone BT'd to the GPS and I have my GPS (Garmin 595) handle all phone functionality. This isn't a stretch anyway, as the 595 relies on the smartphone connection for nearly all of its secondary functionality (music, weather, traffic, etc.). I also have my radar detector paired to my phone, so I get audio from that, music and phone function, and all other GPS stuff all from the GPS> That's device 1 on the Cardo.

Device 2 is the bike. All I use it for is listening to music XM, and a USB stick, plus occasional weather alerts).  Seems to work fine, but I literally just did it yesterday, so I'll report back on reliability and performance.

My bike's bluetooth signal is good for about 50 ft. Never had any of issues you spoke of.

That would be amazing. Mine is about 18". I thought it was my headset at first, until I realized that the range to my GPS is at least 20' (I haven't tried farther).
