screw in tire

advice please
screw went in sideways with only middle of screw in tire,no leaks yet ,but i'm not sure I want ride on it like so.
should I buy same brand /model  as tires have plenty of life left.i don't know if its a good idea to mix brands
looks like I can still find exact replacement but model is discontinued

I've never been too concerned about mixing brands of tyres.  But that's just me.

I've never been too bothered about mixing tyres (apart from cross ply and radial which is illegal in the UK). But I'm not Valentino Rossi either.

thank you,its because I was thinking of getting a better tire for the rear and in the spring ,matching the front.
maybe i'll do that just have to do a little reading on what brand !!

I had to change the rear tire at 3000 miles for exactly the same reason, but mine was a large construction form nail.  I put a different brand on the rear, and then when I needed a front I changed it to the same brand.  another puncture on the rear that the plug lost the ability to seal later caused the same scenario again!  I now have a match again, but I don't think there were any negatives when the front and rear weren't the same brand/series.

more to story,I went with the cheaper cost of discontinued brand of tire on bike,$130.00 so I could save a little and maybe upgrade both tires in the future.so my mech. broke tpms gizmo, bought the two on ebay for 130. now back together and called a dealer some number of miles away and he says that tpms first has to be calibrated before install in rim, I was not aware of this if it is indeed true,so is this true???

I'm not sure about calibration but I think you need the reference number on the TPMS unit before it gets installed.

thanks ,I took a pic of tpms id number and wrote it down also,dealer said  it has to go on some unit that spins it to calibrate it,then install in tire ??
 I had bought dealer tool on a group buy thinking it would enable me to attatch gizmo to ecu but I can only turn it on or off from dash readout
