    Tootling around Spain

Somewhat ironic that I am in a remote village up in the hills and it is so small that all the guys in the bar knew I was the one with the Triumph....word gets around quickly here. Not only that but a wagon driver in the bar said I passed him at Valencia 100 miles away LOL. He said there was no mistaking the bike (he owns a Ninja so he knows his bikes....). Nobody speaks English here so it's all done by sign language and gestures 😂😂 They want me to go for breakfast with the bike....and they'll bring theirs

What I'm finding is the coast roads are not Spain at all in this area. Lots of areas where there are too many British. Go inland, look for small towns, avoid toll roads, take your time, get a mesh jacket, avoid the July & August heat. I saw Calpe from a distance...it looked very commercial and built up.
Use AirBnB. This is my view this morning..23 for the night. Bedroom, kitchen, lounge, bathroom, terrace. Nothing to complain about....

Been going to Calpe for 17 years, just in process of moving from beach front apartment to property inland looking over the mountains. I know what you mean about commercialised but the old town is worth a visit especially at night. Calpe is a far cry from the likes of Benidorm etc. I am unsure whether to take the ferry or go by the chunnel. I have been wanting to do this trip for years but never got round to it and now feel its now or never.

    Are you travelling alone.

Yes, travelling solo. I take the Portsmouth to Saint Malo ferry.  Provides a nice restful overnight sleep in a cabin. Full English breakfast at 5.60 is a bonus 😊

    Hello,

If it had been a few hours before you answered my post, we would have gone to Tortosa to meet you. We were in Salou and you in Tortosa, we were separated by about 78 km.

I would have been very happy to meet you, also your TTSE.

Surely you would have been very happy too.

I would have shown him everything that I have installed in my TTSE.

I was with my lady and my TTSE. Today we are also in Salou.

You are quite right in what you say about Spanish, little English is spoken.

Unfortunately, tell us little or nothing, as is my case.
But with signs and mobile translators, we get to understand each other. So
My lady and I do it when we travel in Europe.

    Where are you today?

    Regards
