It must surely have had the initial 500 mile Service though ?

Anyway, the main thing is to confirm this is the issue and then get it updated.

Cheers  :821:

No, no service has been done on this bike and they say No software updates have been issued for this bike,  they ran it through the Triumph database. Nothing. Do you happen to have this so-called bulletin handy?

Sorry, Been busy !

I will look up the Service Bulletin those evening
when I get home from work.

Meanwhile have you been able to hook up some power yet,
to confirm the Software Version of your Audio Software -  as previously advised ?

You didn't remove the Fuse then ?

Your Trophy WILL need to be Serviced - It should have had the Final Drive Oil changed at 500 Miles
( it is not then specified to be changed ever again ! ), along with the Engine Oil and Oil Filter,
and lots of checks of various things that may have worked loose etc since the Bike left the Factory.

It makes sense to have the Audio Software updated at the same time.

As part of any and every Service the Dealer should carry out an "Autoscan",
but it is not clear as to whether this should highlight that an Audio Software update is available,
or whether Triumph have relied upon Dealers reading their published Service Bulletins,
which sadly many don't seem to !

I can't find the actual Service Bulletin, but I have attached a copy
of the instructions for an authorised Dealer to update the Software.

You will note at the end of the instructions where it says to verify
that the Software has been updated to Version 1.04E

To obtain the Software the Dealer needs to log on to "TOL" ( Triumph On Line )
which is their Dealer web portal.

Under the Service/ Technical pulldown menu, they'll find Diagnostic Software.

The audio updates are located in there.

The File is named "Plaudit_Radio_1_04E_LM3_512_Upgrade.s19"

After downloading the file to a USB Stick,
follow the process described in the below Document.

You will need to have a good battery fitted and to put the Fuse back in,
which I would suggest is not done until ready to commence the update
to remove any risk of the battery being flattened again !  :138:

Once the Software has been updated I am confident that will be the end of your battery draining problem.

Cheers  :821:

MAKE them do the audio update if it hasn't been done.  Mine is 5-1/2 years old (six in November when I bought it), and it did the same thing and since the audio update and new battery it has never been replaced!  Knock wood!  I checked the battery voltage just the other day after it had been parked for 3 days with no charger on it and it read 12.4V on my meter.  The only time I put a battery tender on it is when I know it will be parked for at least 3 weeks, which is maybe once every 2 years if we leave the country.  Starts first time every time no problem.  It's your audio unit that is the problem.  Accept that and get them to fix it!

So the dealer calls me and says it up to date and we did not install any software and ran it through the database at Triumph. Everything is fine.
So the battery dies and they want to install a new one.  and it going to be diagnosed with a no start problem. @98.00 @HR .
It was on the bike for mabey 10 min before I brought it to them. So NO
A day later they call and they read everything that is said on this form (I printed it out) and do the update- now no problems. said it was a starter relay loose wire.
MMMM I can tell when someone is lying.  They did not know. Yep
The spent a lot of time on this bike.
In the end, they did me right, without the knowledge of this forum, I would have sent $$$$

Thanks For all your help guys.

 Out the door for $40.00. HELL YA .   :046 :062: :821: :821: :821: :821:
