Lower Front Foot Pegs
« on: January 07, 2020, 06:42:18 PM »
Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience of lowered front footpegs.

I'm looking for an adjustable option, ideally with a rubber inserts.

Any help, pictures or web links would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance... Ian

Knight Designs, but the price and freight will give you "sticker shock".

I have the Knight Design lowered pegs and really like them.  However, I do wish that they had some sort of rubber tread to improve traction and absorb a bit of vibration.  I often stand on the pegs during long distance rides and I fear that my foot will slip off the metal only pegs as they are now.

Interestingly, in looking at the Knight Designs web site (http://www.knightdesignllc.com/index.htm) I see that they offer a "wide rubber tread footpeg".

The website also lists specifics under their "What's New" page regarding Lowered Rubber Tread pegs. http://www.knightdesignllc.com/Whats-New.html#rubber-tread-pegs

Rubber Tread Lowered Motorcycle Foot Pegs

We now offer lowered motorcycle foot pegs with rubber tread. These are available for models selected by popular demand (measured by volume of customer requests).

I would be very interested in a lowered version of the wide rubber tread pegs.  I'm going to submit a request and hopefully convince others here to make similar requests that will make it possible for the set to be manufactured.

I have the knight design sidetrax tread and they are fine for me.  I do scrape them on twisty twisties but the comfort for my long legs is brilliant.

I have KD pegs on my KLR650 which I ride off road mostly.  I would be more worried about my foot slipping off the rubber pegs than the non rubber ones.  Mine are non rubber and with all the mud, dirt and water that I ride through, slippery pegs has never been an issue.  I typically stand more than I sit when riding off road as well.  Once again, slippery pegs has never been an issue.  I would never have rubber pegs on an off road bike.  As far as vibration isolation, I think that it would be minimal.  YMMV.

Merritt64, I'm a little confused. I read it that C4YNY was looking for lowered pegs for his Triumph Trophy, not a dirt bike.  :084:

For all intents and purposes, they are the same pegs.  I tried to address the issues that the OP had.  Didn't think it was confusing.

VARIO also shows a Triumph Trophy option with different offsets for some more adjustability.  I don't know of anyone that has them though, and they don't have a rubber cover option that I have seen.
