Triumph Trophy - General Chat / Re: Engine blown?

Don't know. But looking through the intakes, everything is just broken metal.
Replacement engine is only bet that's financially viable at all.
One thing though.......  when the Trophy was new. One of the main selling points was the big intervals between major services.
Well the air filter in mine and the intakes were clogged!!
Looks like the filter has never been off.
Always main dealer serviced too.
Paying top money for poor quality!

Have now been told my engine is a pile of scrap metal.

Valves all through pistons apparently . just waiting for them to give me a cause.

Need a new engine complete!

Without a doubt I have seriously fallen 'out of love' with Triumph now, that's for sure!

UPDATE :

Have been lucky enough to find a local 'mechanic' who is collecting the bike from me in a few days to start taking it apart to see what has gone wrong.

Hopefully it'll just need parts, but now I know I have options for a complete motor if necessary.

Watch this space.

Until I can get the bike looked at I still have no idea of what has actually gone wrong with the engine, so am looking online to see if I can find a complete engine  from a breaker maybe?

Haven't come across an actual TROPHY engine yet, but have seen a few TIGER EXPLORER engines which I know are similar .. BUT . how 'similar' are they in real life.

Could they simply be swapped for example??

I'm sure that this has been discussed before, but I'm wondering if anyone has any evidence on this being a way out for me if needed??

It would be great to find a good reliable quality independent workshop not too far from me, but I guess there's not much chance and instead I'm stuck with the main dealer!
