Hi All,

after 5 fantastic years of riding the Trophy, its time for me to move on. If the Trophy was still available, even better if Triumph had seen fit to do some updates I would have another Trophy, no question. But as they are no longer available, Triumph is losing me to the 'Dark Side' & I am returning to BMW.

Shortly picking up a BMW K1600 GT Sport, managed to haggle a great deal that Im pleased with.

So I will be popping in from time to time to see how everyone is doing and hopefully if Triumph come to their senses I might be back on a New Trophy in a few years, who knows. Take care all, enjoy your Trophies and look out for some postings I will make shortly for bits I have for sale.

Keep it rubber side down,

Its nothing to do with emissions. Its just fashion, everyone wants adventure style rather than big tourers. its same engine as Tiger 1200 after all and thats just been updated!

Anyway, welcome and enjoy from a fellow individual rather than a fashion follower!

I think you will love it over the FJR, as good as the FJ is! Welcome

This is by far the best resource for the Trophy any where on the web. There has been little in the way of serious issues with the Trophy and they have been resolved. Its a great bike, test ride it and see is the best advice!

Well I did the show and in summary:
Honda Goldwing. Looks fantastic. Central iDrive controller you have to take your hands off the bars to use is going to kill someone. Luggage is useless, badly shaped, can't get a helmet in either side pannier and I doubt you could get one in the top box. 30k on the road is ridiculous with 200 mile range.

Yamaha FJR. Who does a so called touring bike where you can have a top box or panniers but the manufacturer says you should not ride with both on at the same time! What century are you in?

Suzuki. Nada.

Ducatti. Nada.

Hardly Davidson. Nada.

KTM. Nada.

Triumph. That Explorer, sorry Tiger looks neat apart from the tacky decals. Really like the kit and the handlebar and control improvements. TFT display looks like an afterthought. All this gear should be on an updated Trophy for those people serious about touring in comfort, and protected from weather.

BMW. Have to say, you guys have the best range of kit available. I was really surprised at how much I liked the K1600B bagger. really an impressive looking beast. With the Grand America version giving you a top box this is really the ONLY show in town right now.

Ho hum. Likely to be keeping my Trophy for at least another 15 months. Come on Triumph, pull your finger out. Update the Trophy and get it out there. There is REALLY no competition for the Trophy, how you couldn't sell them is a shocker. Every touring bike I was looking round there were guys all coming to the same conclusion. Only bike that fits their bill is a Trophy and they can't get one anymore!
