On Two Wheels - Bikers Chat / A NEW TIGER IN THE WORKS

Got the email and camo photo of a new Tiger in the works.  Interesting, but chain drive.  Have to wait for production for the details to be revealed.

On Two Wheels - Bikers Chat / New Triumph products coming to market
« on: July 20, 2021, 02:40:22 pm »
So now Triumph has decided to jump into an extremely crowded market and produce dirt bikes with the intent to be competitive in racing.  I applaud their guts, but have my doubts about how successful they will be among the likes of the Japanese brands that have thrown millions of dollars into that product over the years.  I suppose next we'll get a Moto GP effort, but we'll apparently never see another quality touring machine like the Trophy again from the brand.

NOT necessarily for use on a motorcycle, but may be possible.  I get these updates from Indiegogo, a crowdfunding site, about new products becoming available and this one caught my eye as very interesting:

Bear in mind that this is a Crowdfunding site!  I have no affiliation with Indiegogo, but I have contributed to a few campaigns for products promoted on the site and have been very pleased with them to date.  What surprised me was that the order for a quantity of 3 was less per unit than any other quantity.  $165 is not a terrible price for a good jacket, and I've spent more on some things in the past only to find out that they didn't quite live up to the billing.  If anyone is interested in giving one of these a try I would be willing to be one of a quantity level buy.  Supposed to be an August ship date.

:046:  I get emails from Indiegogo, a crowdfunding site on new items coming up and the latest is VERY interesting.  Morph.  Bluetooth 5.2 LE ready Wireless ANC earbuds, with a case that operates as a separate controller and allows switching seamlessly from one to another Bluetooth source into the earbuds.  24 hour battery life and it's Qualcomm ANC that monitors noise actually being received in the ear canal so it doesn't need the earbuds to create a seal.  Phone, laptop, gaming console, media player, tv, whatever you want to pair to it that broadcasts a Bluetooth signal.  Like a portable Bluetooth router that I have really wanted for a long time.  Think about it.  Mount the receiver/transmitter so it can be removed when desired on the tank, closer to the Trophy Audio, and switch whenever you want from Trophy Audio, to a Bluetooth GPS or any other source.  I would pair it to the Sena and let the Sena prioritize the phone over the Morph's signal and that would end all the connection issues for multiple devices.  My only question would be how glove friendly the controller is to switch signals.  Not a deal killer since I keep a stylus on a keyback attached to a chest pocket zipper if needed, but a niggle.  Expected to start shipping in November this year and the early bird buy in is $104 US.  We'll see!!!!!

Items for Sale / Klim and Knox D30 Riding Gear Armor Only
« on: March 28, 2021, 03:55:45 pm »
I have the following armor out of my old riding gear that was bought last year to replace the original crappy foam that came in it 11 years ago.  My new gear already has D30 so my old Olympia gear is phased out and I am offering the untested D30 I had put in it.
Knox Microlock back protector $45
Klim D30 Shoulder pads $30
Klim D30 Elbow pads $30
Klim D30 Hip pads $30
Klim D30 Knee pads $30

Unfortunately shipping will kill you on these things since they're so heavy, so if you're in Texas, or want to join the "Twisted Trophies" on one of their get togethers I will gladly bring them along or meet somewhere halfway between you and New Braunfels to hand deliver them.  Pictures are available on various websites.
Thanks for looking,

Events, Meetings, and Ride Outs / Calling All "Twisted Trophies"

It seems that member Saddle Tramp is going to be in the warmer part of the nation for another 6 weeks, and in that time frame he needs to put some miles on his new to him Darkside R1200GSA and has asked if we have any plans for a short get together by the Texas members.  Personally I'd open that to ALL Twisted Trophies members, so what do you say.  Should we cook something up to help him get the, ahem, bugs out of his new ride?  I figure it may be a good time for all!

All the Twisted Trophies members should be aware that I met and rode with new forum member YAGA1973 earlier today and he is the newest member of the "Twisted Trophies".  Now there are 2 of us in one town!!!!  New Braunfels will never be the same, and I can always tell the officer it must have been the OTHER blue Trophy he saw speeding last week! :745:

THANKS TRIUMPH USA!  All my issues with going dead on the highway at speed and failure to start have been solved with the cooperation of Triumph USA and a surprisingly helpful dealer.  As it turns out the technician diagnosed the fault as the starter switch associated wiring.  After they were good enough to put it all back together for me to make the North Carolina trip since there was no switchcube in the US, I used my Frankenswitch to make the trip without incident.  I took it back in so they could once again strip it down and replace the switchcube, with the new and improved cruise control switch I might add, and all is now well with the Trophy. :046:  The Gray wire was pulled from the connector that is buried well under everything and a real pain to access.  From the looks of it, it appeared that the wire had never been fully inserted into it's port in the connector and just got worked back slowly but surely.  I did pay 2 hours labor since they re-assembled it and stripped it a second time to repair it, and I'm OK with that given the circumstances and the fact that I was able to make the trip.  With 30K+ miles on the 2013 Trophy I think it was very kind of Triumph to replace the part and cover labor as a "Good Will" gesture.  There have been a few instances of less than stellar performance by this dealer in the past, but I have to say they stepped up and helped facilitate the no charge replacement from Triumph by applying for it in this case.  Those requests apparently are not handled by the service advisory people and separate application has to be made to a different department at Triumph for "Good Will" parts/labor replacements and it takes a few days for an answer.  It didn't hurt that I had two separate cases filed with Triumph USA about each of my problems and the dealer had that info, as well as their diagnosis.  My  ignition switch wiring is OK, BTW.

:821: ALL, I thought everyone should know how well everyone cooperated to solve my issues.
