Modifications and Appearance / Position lights for increased visibilty
« on: October 10, 2021, 12:01:14 pm »
Hello at all,

I found something, which I believe increases my TTSEīs visibility, itīs a very small but powerful position light.
It is E-approved, which makes it legal for usage on german roads (and I assume the rest of EU also).
I chose this LED-position-light, although itīs fairly expensive, but comes with approval
Itīs called Kellermann Atto, rough description is here:

The finger you see is not a thumb, itīs my little finger, thatīs how small they are.
These little babies, where the manufacturer says, the light surface fits 4 times on a (Euro) cent coin, are clearly an improvement.

I just placed them on the fog-light clamps, provided by Tralex, they are pointing slightly downwards, to avoid dazzling the traffic, which I think would be counter-productive. If someoneīs dazzled, he will not see you either.

Even in sunlight they perform well:

To me it looks like they are creating the extra spot of light, making me feel to be seen a bit earlier. And they consume no space either.
The video shows what i consider to be a big advantage, a bit away they create quite a spot of light, once they get closer, they do not disturb general visibility.
And if all fails, I still have my Foglights to show Iīm here.

Have a great time!

Kind regards

I apologize for maybe not fully understanding the whole issue here, but one thing strikes me immediately :

I remember there is a list of errors in the workshop manual, one error mentioning something about using a bolt to turn the engine over. Just my rough memory.
Never got there, as I am not servicing the bike myself.
But maybe this is caused due to an error in the workshop manual, when doing the service last time?

Kind regards

Hi Pommy,

very good solution, especially if you are not using a top box, and rarely have a pillion.
Well done! :152:

Hi Ken,

my wife and I love the freedom we have.
She often sits so far at the end, she can use the backrest of the top box. We are then seperated by approx 4 inches.
Since she is a very good pillion, following me thorugh every corner no matter where she sits, I sometimes turn my head left or right to check the shadow of the bike if sheīs still there.
Unless I hear her snoring through the headset... (I was thinking about using velcro on box and her jacket :745: to avoid losing her)
She loves it, because she gets some more air around her and has space to sit comfortably.
On my Sprint ST I always have her on my back, because everything is much tighter. Which is good in that case, as riding the ST means no chickenstrip on the tires. Different ballgame.

Kind regards

Hi Ken,
I would like the other design, if the would be Blue, as mine is Pacific Blue.
What do you mean, white background? The colour of the shirt?
It took 3 days, ordered on Sunday 29th, yesterday  I had two Blue shirts in different sizes. And I am not in the UK.
Seems I had loads of Luck.

Kind regards

Hi all,

I found an artwork T-shirt on redbubble, which I had to order. Not sure, if you already discussed it here in the forum, if so, please accept my apologies.

I simply love it.

For those interested, it can be found gere:

Lighting, Electrical, and Wiring / Re: LED headlamp bulb

Different countries, different rules, thanks for the explanation. I hope I got the real sense of it.
OSRAM has released a list of front light numbers (E-number plus make/manufacture code or whatever), they have satisfactorily tested their H4 LED-bulbs in.
The end user has to check and verify that he is allowed to use the LED-bulbs in his vehicle.
I would assume that they have tested all aspects including light orientation and heat dissipation etc. before they get approval. And I doubt they tested it in a Trophy...

Kind regards

Forgot the link to the LED bulbs, sorry.
Can you locate them in your countries?
