Modifications and Appearance / Position lights for increased visibilty
« on: October 10, 2021, 12:01:14 pm »
Hello at all,

I found something, which I believe increases my TTSEīs visibility, itīs a very small but powerful position light.
It is E-approved, which makes it legal for usage on german roads (and I assume the rest of EU also).
I chose this LED-position-light, although itīs fairly expensive, but comes with approval
Itīs called Kellermann Atto, rough description is here: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Kellermann-ATTO-POSITION-LIGHT-GETOENT/dp/B07GTLTVWJ/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=kellermann+atto+position&qid=1633862613&sr=8-4

The finger you see is not a thumb, itīs my little finger, thatīs how small they are.
These little babies, where the manufacturer says, the light surface fits 4 times on a (Euro) cent coin, are clearly an improvement.

I just placed them on the fog-light clamps, provided by Tralex, they are pointing slightly downwards, to avoid dazzling the traffic, which I think would be counter-productive. If someoneīs dazzled, he will not see you either.

Even in sunlight they perform well:

To me it looks like they are creating the extra spot of light, making me feel to be seen a bit earlier. And they consume no space either.
The video shows what i consider to be a big advantage, a bit away they create quite a spot of light, once they get closer, they do not disturb general visibility.
And if all fails, I still have my Foglights to show Iīm here.

Have a great time!

Kind regards
Michael

H@all,

"For the hair rising sound of a triple"

My name is Michael, i am nearly 55years old.
I live in the middle of Germany, a beautiful town named Hann. Muenden.

Please accept my apologies for any mistakes in translation or mistypes, I havenīt used my english for quite a bit.

Currently I do not own a 1215SE yet, but I have one "reserved" for me, which I hopefully will pick up in 6 weeks, early August this year, due to lack of time , the bike is nearly 400 miles away from here.
I own a 1050 ST, which I will keep at least for the moment, since I love the character of it.
I got into the I-want-a-Trophy-mode in the Harz-Mountains, when a 1215 SE parked next to me, and I had a chat with the owner. He had a ST before and convinced me to have a deeper look into the Trophy, being more comfortable
A few weeks later, I had a test ride on a silver one, which was for sale. Ride was OK, but the bike semmed a bit rough, scratches and dents here and there on the fairing and the cases. Other projects pushed the Trophy in the background, but I had an eye on the market.

I found someone selling his, since he wants to buy himself a new bike as a birthday gift for his 60th Birthday. Iīll do the same with the 1215 SE for my 55th birthday  :001:. Itīs Blue, like my ST, so I consider it to be a perfect pair. For the current owner it is a perfect situation, he knows his bike will be sold, but he can still use it to drive around until he has the new one (or Iīll pick the Trophy up, whichever occurs first  :038:)

Anyway, I am looking forward to become a Trophy-owner soon, and I am looking forward to get to know all the enthusiasts here. I am member of TMOC Germany, and the 1215SE will be my long distance Tourer. So I am planning to visit Triumph / Trophy  meetings all over Europe whenever my time (and Corona) allows me to do so. I joined this forum, because I would like to benefit from otherīs experience to avoid silly mistakes, and offer mine whenever wanted.

You all take care, stay healthy and enjoy life.

Whenever you come to Germany, consider yourself to be invited to my place. I live in a beautiful area with loads of good routes nearby ("Weserbergland", "Solling", "Harz" and more). We have a bit space in our home, and we can offer a couch or a bed.

Until soon!

Kind regards
Michael
