Items Wanted / Re: Fork leg electrical connector cap.

Tell me about it! Over £45 for two pieces of disposable plastic. I manages to salvage one as it fell off and it’s now drilled and held in place with a zip tie through the holes and around the cable.

Tyres and Wheels / Re: Avon Spirit good?
« on: Today at 12:31:47 pm »
I’ve run more Avons than anything else, since the early-mid 80’s.
No experience of Spirits, though the XM’s were excellent, with just one exception, sadly. The tread depth on the front tyre is slightly less than 4mm from the factory and as a result, they do well to last as long as the rear!
I’d check the depth on the Spirit front before purchasing :028:

Items Wanted / Fork leg electrical connector cap.

Do any of you kind folks have a spare black plastic cap, to cover the electrical connector on the top of an SE’s fork leg,  that you would care to sell to me please?

I enjoyed the replies 😁

Thanks everyone 👍

Modifications and Appearance / Re: Added a couple mirrors
« on: July 22, 2021, 04:44:25 pm »
It’s a popular modification 😁

There’s no need to duplicate the function with the standard mirrors - bend the glass outwards to cover the dual carriageway / freeway overtaking blindspot 👍

Maybe Benelli and CF-Moto may feel differently as well, once they’ve had a few years of trying to sell enough of them to cover their costs.
Besides, with both of them being chain drive, they’ve both fallen at the first hurdle.

Triumph Trophy - General Chat / Re: Seat Height - Am I crazy ?
« on: July 20, 2021, 08:30:47 pm »
28” inside leg here and pretty happy on the TTSE with a standard height seat; I’ve recently tried a low seat, but it turned out to be too low.
Swapping between this and my Explorer, the biggest dofferent between the two is the substantial extra width of the seat on the SE.

To be fair, if John Bloor’s intention was originally entirely to make money, he wouldn’t have got into the bike building business! 😉

Though we all benefit from it, I can’t see why he ever came back to building tourers, after a 9 year gap, anyway - even Dayglo Derek’s friend, BMW, had turned from being dominated by touring bikes, to being dominated by adventure bikes and “character” roadsters.

Now, what’s this about Triumph building competitive dirt bikes?
