Tyres and Wheels / Re: Michelin Road 5

I was after PR5s this time, but was told no stock anywhere for at least a month. I will be getting PR4GTs fitted next week.
Current PR4s have done just over 6000 miles. I reckon a could get some more miles from them, but they dont handle very well now, the front has an odd profile making the bike track in ruts and the rear is squaring off.

Never bought online as the guy who fits mine is pretty competitive.
Price of the PR4s at black circles is £243 so £282 ride in & fitted  is a good price in my view and less than £20 up on the last set

Changing my PR4GTs this Friday for another set- £282 Ride in & fitted.
Last changed them 2 years ago and the price increase since then is £17.
I was after a set of PR5s, howver there is a 5 week wait for them at the moment.

Think my next bike will be something a bit lighter. I doubt we will do any long distange Eurpean trips again so may go back to a VFR800.

Nice to know. I reckon Ill need a new set of tyres for my bike in 1000 miles or so. Managed 6000 so far on the Pilot road 4GTs. I may look at teh Angel Gts next , but it wil depend on the cost against the Michellin PR 4GT/ PR5.

They do now, depends on the age of the bike and the regulations in force at the time of build / registration (can't remember which). The rules for many things have changed over the years and often you don't hear about it until you have to do something that requires involvement of the DVSA / VOSA. I could spend days reading up and go full anorack on you quoting this and that but these days I just deal with it as it happens  :038:
Never knew that, thanks for posting. Both my Pans and my BMW 1200GSA still passed the emmisions tests with O2 sensors removed from the system.

I removed the O2 sensors on both my Pans which smoothed out the  throttle response significantly. Dont feel the need on the Trophy. I didnt know emissions were checked on a bike, I dont recall seeing them doing it when I have taken it for a test anyway.
