« on: February 14, 2015, 11:43:03 am »
Not heard of it, or seen any formal announcement but browsing the web (socio-professional website, initial L) it seems that Simon who was leading the design team for the Trophy had now left Triumph (December 2014) to join Royal Enfield UK and become Head of Product Planning and Strategy

Ride Reports and Touring / SSB Aviators Bike Tour 2014
« on: June 17, 2014, 05:03:44 pm »
As every year for now the last ten years, last week was our annual SSB Bike Tour. This year we decided to pay our tribute to the Braves who gave their lives for our freedom almost one century ago!

Everything started with our gathering in Gavrelle (North of France, near Arras) when the British Contingent met the French scout:

Wednesday we begun our journey by going through the Somme Battlefields, we stopped at:
The Newfoundland Memorial:

as well as the Thiepval Memorial:

We had lunch by the Roupy Airfield

On Thursday we took a light break by visiting the former Gueux Formula One Grand Prix Circuit (by Reims)

In the afternoon we went on by paying our respects to the Ferme de Navarin Monument (east of Reims):

We finished the day on a much lighter note by visiting a Maison de Champagne

Friday, last day of our Tour, we went to Verdun

and the Fort de Vaux

To conclude this Great Tour we had our Gala Dinner on Friday night

Overall 1400 kms for the froggy but more than 2000 for our British Contingent
Despite the topic retained for this year Tour we had lots of fun.
All of that with great weather, excellent accomodation and great camaraderie and friendship.
Very much looking forward to next year edition

Tyres and Wheels / Avon Storm 3D XM
« on: May 11, 2014, 02:36:13 pm »
Trophy went for interlmediate service, front tyre (OEM Pirelli Angel ST) was about to expire (12,000 kms), I was proposed to replace it by an Avon 3D XM; was told by the dealer that I would not be disappointed, he even proposed to replace it if I don't like it. So I took the plunge, so far my experience with it is quite satisfactory but I'm keen on hearing from other members who have tried it: mileage and behaviour on wet surface are  of particular interest to me. I fully concurr with Berber who once said that it is pretty much of a personal feeling but still interested in learning from others' experience. Thanks

I don't know how it goes in other markets but this morning I received from Triumph France an invitation to complete a satisfaction survey form in the occasion of my Trophy First Anniversary!  :062:

In France Triumph has now implemented a tariff policy for the regular maintenance services, I guess the same is also available elsewhere?
