The BMW Dealer that Iíve worked with for years gives me a pretty substantial discount on the proprietary parts I need, which actually havenít been many over the years. When it comes to consumables like filters, I find itís better to research who makes them for the bikes, and buy from them instead, often at a big discount...

I just checked the MAX BMW parts list and they want $43 for a KL145 filter for a R1150 - about $12 less than the Triumph OEM part.

So, I'll go with the Ebay Mahle KL145 filter w/free shipping for less than $20.

Thatís what Iím talking about!  :821:

So, I'll go with the Ebay Mahle KL145 filter w/free shipping for $17.  I just bought one so I or the new owner ( I have no idea how much longer I'll be able to ride - I'm starting to get a little long in the tooth ) will have it in hand 20K miles from now when it's due for a change.  It will only cost more at that time or might not even be available on EBay at that time.

Thanks again Saddle Tramp for that Mahle PN !

I had this happen after about 6k miles use and unfortunately about 2 weeks after the warranty expired. Unfortunately by that time Triumph had figured out what was happening with people buying the individual "repair" parts and done a knee jerk.

It was repairable in my case but in all honestly, they were never great to start with.

You of course mean Robert Francis OíRourke, He is not going to be in El Paso at that time.
I called to invite him to dinner.

It's more of a Beto thing for us! :005:  Sorry, couldn't resist.

If itís any consolation, I promise we wonít be having dinner with Beto whilst in town.  :087:
