Audio, Sat Nav, and Intercom / GPS Power Connector vs Power Distro Block
« on: September 23, 2021, 05:41:37 pm »
Hello all,

Quick question for you.  I'm about to mount up a Zumo XT (Yay!) and am wondering if there is any advantage of wiring the power lead to a fused power distribution block (Eastern Beaver) as opposed to using the factory dedicated GPS power connector.

Any thoughts on this subject?

Modifications and Appearance / Handlebar Risers - Reasons to Install
« on: September 11, 2021, 03:39:02 pm »
I'm 5'11" and my bars are generally okay.  However, since installing my Corbin seat, which has raised my seating position, I've been wondering if installing some handlebar risers would be beneficial.  What are some signs that I should look for to indicate that I should raise my bars?

How many of you have handlebar risers?  Why did you specifically install them?  What height did you go with?  Did risers solve your issues?

Hello All,

I was just wondering who has installed a HealTech quickshifter and what their thoughts were on it.  I'm not necessarily looking to install one on my TTSE anytime soon, I was just curious as the feedback found on this forum for quickshifters in general is a mixed bag.  In any case, if you do have a HealTech quickshifter, how long have you had it installed?  Do you know how many miles you've put on while it's been installed?  Have you had any adverse performance from your motorcycle because of it (e.g. worn gearbox parts)?  Would you install it again if you had to start over?

Here's to a fun discussion!

Triumph Trophy - General Chat / Engine Lugging RPM
« on: July 26, 2021, 02:41:43 pm »
What is the lowest RPM you'll run your engine at before you consider downshifting?  Let's say you're running on level ground.  Mine is 2500-3000, depending on throttle position and engine noises.

Accessories and Products / New Corbin Seat Arrived
« on: June 28, 2021, 07:23:09 pm »
After waiting for a month for production, my seat from Corbin finally arrived.  I couldn't be happier with my color selections and I love how it looks.  So far, I only have 36 miles on it, but I really appreciate how my hips are no longer tilted forward, the bump in the back really provides good support during acceleration, and my posterior is evenly supported all over.  My seating position is about an inch higher, which is good and bad.  Since my inseam is 29 1/2 inches, I am now on my tiptoes at a stop but my other ergonomics are acceptable.  I do have to raise my windscreen up a bit more at highway speeds, but that means I get more airflow when it's all the way down.  My reach to the handlebars was affected, but so far I haven't noticed anything negative about that.

Here are obligatory pictures (Overlook Park, Canyon Lake, TX and my driveway):

My color selections were:

Seat:  Smoke Bomber Jacket (leather)
Sides:  Matte Black
Welt:  Smoke Grey Vinyl
Stitching:  Medium Silver
Logo:  Medium Silver

I did purchase a matching passenger backrest, but it obviously isn't installed in these photos.  I can't wait to see how this saddle feels in 1,964 miles.   :001:

Triumph Trophy - General Chat / Driver Footrest Strength
« on: June 21, 2021, 07:37:26 pm »
Hello, all.  Odd question for you.  Has anyone had any issues with the strength of their driver footrests?  From time to time I like to stand up while riding and I also use my footrest to mount/dismount the bike.  I'm a heavier guy, 250lbs, and am used to steel framed bikes and want to make sure the cast pieces on our scoots are engineered to take this type of weight/load on a regular basis.

Thank you!

It would seem the profile between these two seats might be similar.  Since there is no picture of this seat on Russell's website, who has a photo of this seat on their TTSE?  Has anyone had experience with both seats?  If so, which seat did you prefer?

Triumph Trophy - General Chat / Scrivet Dimensions
« on: April 30, 2021, 06:50:43 pm »
Does anyone have the dimensions for the scrivets?  I've performed a search on here and have had no luck.  In any case, I'm looking to replace with alternate fasteners and need to know the outside diameter of the scrivet right above the fingers and the depth of the fingers from the bottom of the flange.  Thank you!
