I agree with Coconut on the service interval, 20,000 miles is too long.
I do mine at the end of each season, which before this current madness was around 12,000 miles a year and the front bearing was always dry. Perhaps it gets too much heat from the exhaust and the grease melts, allowing it to escape.
I have replaced the front bearing and sleeve 4 times now as each time they were showing signs of wear.

Took a few days to dash down to Marion, TN through West By God, VA mostly on RT 16.  That's one loooong, nice, fookin' road.  Starts at St. Mary's WV and basically goes to Georgia.  The 30 or so miles north of Marion VA is called the Back of the Dragon.  What a hoot!  It rivals RT 29 at Deal's Gap.

Went with a couple of buddies.  One on an older KZ1000 Kawi and the other on a newer KTM 1250 GT - one of those 185 HP whiz bangers.  The Trophy impresses them both.  I actually out pace them, and they've been hard riders and racers for 45 years or so.

INVALUABLE!!!!  Another one of those "why didn't I think of that" things.
Hello , after 2 hip replacements and 2 knee surgeries looking or  a Dustrider or Eastbound winch if anyone has one. A friend said to go to a lighter bike, Hah!

I had the Cool Cover - it allows the water to flow through that's why you never sit on a wet seat when it's raining.

Thanks everyone. I am guessing mine is a rear brake issue as I had both tires replaced just a few months ago and I can feel zero play in front end when bike is on center stand. If it was a dirt bike I would have already had it torn down myself but I'm not comfortable working on this one with all the electronics. Trying to get to dealer later this week.

When I put lowering links on my '13 TTSE I found the bearings that I uncovered were barely lube'd, and gave them a good greasing.  Ditto my Kawasaki KLR650.
I expect the companies save a few cents on lube this way, and over the course of millions of units it adds up.

But leaves the bearings under-lubricated. 

Probably a good thing to take care of early on, and to check frequently. 

As noted, it's easy these days to just 'ride 'em and put 'em away wet' but there are consequences....

Wonder what the state of the links on my new ATASES are... Hmmmmmmmm.....
