There is a software version number that usually causes that symptom you mention. (When you press the screen to go up, it goes down on its own and goes up, to leave it in a desired position you must give the button short presses). Changing the software solves it.

On the other hand, it would be convenient to do an automatic calibration of the screen, but it has to be done with the Triumph diagnostic tool.

In any case, it would be good to try as trophied says again, placing the OEM screen.

I don't think its a low battery issue, in all other aspect the battery seems to be pretty strong. I keep the bike on a trickle charger, it turns the starter motor very strongly, and I only get the 'Low Voltage' alert if its been disconnected from the trickle charger for weeks.

I investigated further, removed the Vstream screen, which seems to line up very well with the screen clamps and doesnt seem to put the mechanism under any pressure. Without the screen on, it functioned perfectly, smoothly going up and down as normal. I then lubricated every moving part I could get to with silicon spray, and remounted the screen, taking care to ensure that the mechanism was aligned properly and wasnt being 'bent out of shape' by the screen.

This is when it gets even weirder. Now, with ignition on but engine not running, the screen behaves perfectly - up and down, smooth as you like. However, with the engine running, its better but still misbehaving - it goes up normally more often than not, but on the way down it gets to a certain point and reverses all the way back up. The only way to get it down is multiple short dabs. But it goes down properly after you switch the ignition off.

So what is going on? How come its fine with the engine not running, but not working properly with the engine running? Im baffled.....

I said to check all the Main Battery contacts are clean & tight and to also check the Main Fuseholder for corrosion.

Any loose connections or corroded terminals can result in reduced voltage.
