Agree with coconut as I had issue with blowing heated grip fuse.  I used a multimeter to check wiring and found a short in the heated grip wiring to the throttle.  Issue turned out to be incorrectly installed heated grip wiring (not correctly in the handle bar channel) which chaffed through the wiring insulation with throttle movement.  Wiring was repaired and correctly re-installed under warranty.

Managed to get 13,741 K out of Pirelli OEM replacing with Dunlop Road Smart II which replaced at 24,424K with PR4 GT's.  Currently have approx. 9,000K and still looking ok. See attached pics.

Possibly damaged when bike got blown off (believe it or not) the side stand.  150k wind from the rear moved the bike forward and side stand folded and didn't think to check the pivot bold.  Yep all sorted and as they say lessons learnt.

Hi Mad Dog,

Did the "Little Beggar" break all by itself during Normal Usage or did you give an "Assist" ?

Glad you sorted it, all the same..

Meaning to check the gear lever pivot bolt, but alas to late. The little bugger (or words to that effect) broke yesterday.  Thankfully I had a spare and managed to get it out without damaging the thread.  Would have had the dealer undertake the work (warranty) but as approx 200 k away and I would have to pay for shipment of the bike did it my self.

I replaced Dunlop Roadsmart II while on a trip to Adelaide, after approx. 11,683k and starting to loose grip and developing an issue under light braking.  GC Motorcycles on Main North Road had in stock and had tyres fitted in approx. 1 1/2 hours.  Being in Country Victoria (Aust)  there are a limited number of motorcycle outlets and all would need to order in.   To answer your question No problems in Adelaide South Australia but I would need to order well in advance if I was to replace locally or at Triumph dealer (approx. 200 K away).  PR4 GT now have approx. 6,000K see attached Pics

Not that it answers the original question but just had 32K service done (09 Jan 15) in Aus and tune number is 020868

Replaced the Dunlop Road Smart II's after the experiencing a slight shudder in the front wheel under very light braking   with PR4 GT's (chose the PR4 as I had very good experience with the PR2 on my ST1300) and what a difference.  The bike handles much better and feels more secure while cornering.  Best thing I have done and extremely happy after experiencing torrential rain and high cross winds on a return trip from Adelaide in which the bike handled the inclement weather with ease .  Over 2000K on them at the moment and still look like new.

As with some of the others "Photography" 23 Years as a RAAF photographer just can't seem to kick the habit.
