They are quite robust I used a set of adjustable pliers you need to remove the connections first obviously, the big headache was removing the plugs as they are quite deep in the head.

Thanks Guitarman, a spray of WD40 and some water pump pliers done it in the end.... I think some sadist put sealant on them !!
That was a marathon, started at 11am this morning, finished at 7pm. Air filter, plugs and oil change done.

Good job, I done mine during the winter. A lot of work for a filter & plug change but satisfying  :152:

I agree... the fairing is so complicated to remove, you would think that Triumph could have thought about at least the filter change when designing. Hopefully that's me for 10k,

Did you remove the fuel line using the Banjo nut of the coupler? I had a play with the coupler but then decided just to remove the bajo nut....

I removed the banjo nut and used a new washer when I installed it, all a bit tricky with the wires under the tank but all ok. What I did notice is that the air intakes downstream of the filter were coated with dust so gave them a good clean before reassembly. Just returned from a trip to Holland for the WorldSB at Assen and a few days touring and a catch up with an old mate who lives in Middleharnis south of Rotterdam, the picture is our bikes at Arnhem (A bridge too far).

Guitarman- You said you cleaned your air intakes. I'm just getting ready to tear into mine and there seems to be quite a few reports of them being dirty. How do you clean them? Just blast them with carb cleaner?

Thanks. Your way seems less messy.
