On Two Wheels - Bikers Chat / Rode a Concourse
« on: October 24, 2016, 05:48:13 PM »
I'm in Upstate New York for a couple of weeks.  Many of the regulars here know my brother owns several franchises, one of which is Kawasaki.  He offered me a bike for last weekend but didn't have any Triumph's prepped for riding.  He let me take a Kawasaki Concourse out.  I put a 150 miles on it (weather was a bit on the cool and cloudy side).  Gotta say that Concourse is a very nice bike.  Not as sophisticated electronically as the Trophy but the engine is stronger and the transmission smoother.  Unfortunately no radio or cruise.  Still I could see taking that on a cross country tour or even a repeat trip to Alaska.

I'm visiting relatives in Hungary.  Was in Budapest yesterday.  Saw an sight unusual in any city but particularly in Hungary.  Saw an older Trophy in BRG looked like a 2000.  It was about 1000 meters from a newer Trophy in Silver.  Couldn't identify the year.  Don't know if they were together. Was it anyone from this forum?

On Two Wheels - Bikers Chat / Rode the new Thruxton R
« on: July 28, 2016, 02:42:58 AM »
Guys, I've been spending a lot of time in NY near my brothers' motorcycle shop.  Haven't had time to ride either of my bikes which are both in Texas.  He must have felt sorry for me because he let me ride a brand new Thruxton R.  The bike is everything the hype says it is.  The only reason not to buy the bike is if you can't afford it.  The bike is as close to perfection as you could want.  (obviously not for touring).  I'm even thinking of selling the Trophy to fund a Thruxton R.  It seems I never have time to ride the Trophy anyway.  At least not for distance.

Triumph Trophy - General Chat / 2016 Trophy
« on: April 23, 2016, 05:08:30 AM »
Has anyone seen or, better yet, bought an actual 2016 Trophy.  Not including the way bikes are licensed in the UK.  I mean an bike actually designated as a 2016 in the USA?

Hadn't been to the UK in nearly years and was really looking forward to a proper fish and chips.  Spent 3 days in Reading and scoured the centre.  Couldn't find a decent chippy. Chinese, Kebabs, Nepalese, Indian, you name it but not a real chippy in sight.   (was confined to city centre because I took the bus in from Heathrow)   What is England coming to? :187:
