So before dinner, I decided to mount the rear pannier bars.  So easy, literally took me 30 minutes.  Probably mount the front horizontal bar tonight and that's it.  When the plastics are back on 15 minutes should complete the job.

So.  I have fitted the front bars as well now.  I had the fairing off for other work, but it was not difficult fitting these, probably an hours work.  3 bolts to undo, and just 2 allen bolts to put on.  Looks well too and seem very sturdy.

Can't get the cross bar to line up. Does the long side go on the left or right. Can't tell from the video. Also found the gas tank mount bolts were not located in the holes after my 10,00 mile service at the dealer, which was the start of my problems

Can't remember, but if you are still stuck tomorrow I can go out and check on the bike.
Best way is to mock the crash bars up.  Loosen the lower bolt at the bottom of the engine block.  Then mount the left and right crash bars temporarily on the lower fixing points.  You should then be able to match up the upper mounting parts with the crossbar.
Its important you use the two metal bars in the pack to ensure you have the crossbar situated at the right angle.

Not sure what you mean about the gas tank mountings.  The crash bars don't go anywhere near the tank mountings as far as I remember.

I installed the cross bar and used the supplied gauges to set the position from the bottom of the tank to the bar. Doesn't do much good if the tank isn't bolted in the correct position

I think you have answered your own question then.  You will need to sort the tank location out before you install the bars.

Well, I'd like to post my experience with Crash Bars By Tralex.
I only needed the rear crash bars as the previous owner had installed the front ones. After initial contact with Alexander, I made the purchase and he keep me well informed of the progress. After only a week and a half, the FedEx guy dropped them at my front door. Thirty minutes later, they are on the bike. The look great and appear to be very well made; hopefully, I won't be testing them anytime soon.
Now, if this cold rainy weather would just move on by, I could go for a ride.
    Later,
    Darrell

Hello all! These bars look great! How would I go about getting a set? I can not find a site for Tralex -

    Many thanks!
